Elite Sports

Building the connection, trust and belief behind some of the biggest achievements in Irish and international sport.

Teams Ronan has worked with

Since 2019, Ronan has worked with some of the most demanding teams in sport, including Ireland Rugby, the Dublin footballers’ six-in-a-row side, Leinster Rugby (back-to-back URC titles in ’25 and ’26) and Na Fianna GAA Club (All-Ireland club champions ’25), among others.

Talent and tactics get teams close. Connection gets them over the line.

Most team talk lives at the surface: tactics, injuries, analysis, banter. All necessary, none transformative. Just as the gym builds physical strength, a connection session builds collective strength. Ronan’s workshops lower the waterline, deliberately and safely, to what really binds a team.

What the work looks like

  1. 01

    Season Programme

Workshops mapped to the rhythm of a season: pre-season foundations, mid-season resets, decompression after losses and sharpening before finals, delivered face-to-face with space for the unplanned.

  2. 02

    One-Off Session

A single 2 to 3 hour workshop for teams needing a boost of connection, energy and alignment, whether that's a fresh start, a reset after a tough run or a lift before a big occasion.

  3. 03

    Backroom Team Sessions

Sessions for the backroom team that build deeper togetherness and cross-functional collaboration, and upskill coaches to run engaging, player-led meetings through the craft of facilitation.

What players and coaches
have to say

Grounded in research

The approach draws on Personal Disclosure, Mutual Sharing (PDMS), tested with teams worldwide and shown to enhance communication, trust, empathy, group efficacy and on-field performance.

Questions from teams and coaches

Do you work 1-1 with the players?

Yes if required, I am available to work with players throughout the season. These are spaces where players can discuss any sports or personal-related topics, safely and confidentially.

Do you work with backroom teams?

Yes. Ideally, I would run at least one session with the full backroom team. This helps to 1) build a tight knit group, and 2) empower variety of practitioners to foster connection within their daily roles.

Is there research behind your approach?

Yes, one key approach backing my work with sports teams, is called Personal Disclosure, Mutual Sharing. Researchers have tested this approach with sports teams worldwide and discovered some incredible results. For example, enhanced communication, closeness and trust, empathy, group efficacy, and on-field performance.

How many workshops do we need?

It all depends on the level of depth of results you want to achieve. The Voyage programme reaps deeper and sustained impact. If you are looking for a meaningful reset, a single Huddle workshop will achieve this.

When is best to do them?

Each season has its peaks, troughs, and everything in between. The Voyagers programme has workshops to suits each stage of the journey - from pre-season, mid-season, times of decompression, post loss, approaching finals, leaving space also for any unplanned events/cultural issues that need addressing.

How do you fit into the set up?

If you sign up for the Voyage Programme, I work on a consultancy basis, whereby I engage with the team intermittently throughout the season. If you are interested in a one-off experience, I am contracted in for this single engagement.

From the dressing room to the boardroom

What works for a squad chasing history works for an organisation chasing growth. The environments differ; the human needs don’t.
